agency serving victims of domestic
violence and sexual assault in
Hunterdon County, New Jersey.


MISSION STATEMENT
In an atmosphere of professionalism and
excellence, our mission is to:

Reduce the prevalence of intimate
violence in society.

Provide safety through free and
confidential services for victims and
survivors of domestic abuse and sexual
assault including all  ages, genders,
cultures, religions and sexual
orientations.

Empower victims, survivors and their
families to live enriched lives free from
violence.

Heighten our community's awareness of
domestic violence and sexual assault
through risk reduction education.
The only way SAFE in
Hunterdon can continue to
provide free services such as
emergency shelter,
counseling and legal
advocacy is with your help.















SAFE in Hunterdon offers many types of presentations in order to
educate our community on issues related to domestic violence and
sexual abuse.  Presentations on domestic violence or sexual abuse
can be catered to specific needs that you might want to address and
present to your organization, educational institution or place of
business.  Topics such as dating violence, sexual harassment, date
rape or sexual abuse are a few examples.  We educate groups
ranging in age from children to adults.  In addition, no group is too
large or small in size.  We also can accommodate the amount of
time that you would like to dedicate to the issue.

SAFE in Hunterdon offers a variety of free educational programs
designed to increase awareness of domestic violence and sexual
assault.  The Community Educator works closely with teachers and
individual schools to tailor each program to satisfy individual needs.  
Programs frequently emphasize student interaction and can also
incorporate videos, overheads and handouts, etc. to better reach
your student population.

Volunteering provides a special opportunity to learn about SAFE in
Hunterdon and what is happening in your community.  Volunteer
opportunities include child care, hotline coverage, transportation,
mentoring, teaching computer skills and many other choices.  
Completion of a forty hour training is required to work with victims of
domestic violence in the state of New Jersey.  The training is
provided free of charge.  SAFE in Hunterdon needs your spirit and
energy to continue helping the victims of domestic violence and their

financially matches any gifts contributed to specific organizations or
agencies they choose to support.  This program allows people have
their contributions to eligible organizations multiplied in value.  Ask

Experiencing the loss of someone close to us begins a cycle of the
most intense groupings of emotions we may ever feel during our
lives.  SAFE in Hunterdon would like to serve those facing the desire
