FLEMINGTON, NJ, MAY 27, 2010 — Ellen Szabo has been named Executive Director of SAFE in Hunterdon, beginning her
employment with the agency on January 26, 2010. Ms. Szabo brings over 20 years of experience in the human services field, including
counseling in a college setting and creative writing for social work. Immediately prior to joining SAFE in Hunterdon, Ms. Szabo was
Executive Director at a domestic violence safe house in Colorado for five years. A native New Englander, she earned a B.A. degree at

In making the announcement, Patricia Warner-Proctor, Lebanon, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees said, “We are delighted to have
Ellen at the helm of SAFE in Hunterdon. Her previous experience operating a similar nonprofit organization is an asset to the agency,
and includes grant and financial management, staff development, fund raising, and building community support. During the past few
months Ellen has been proactive in meeting community leaders to gain a solid understanding of how we can work together to help
victims and survivors of domestic and sexual assault.”
SAFE in Hunterdon also recently welcomed two additional community leaders to the Board of Trustees.
Laura Botsacos, New Brunswick, brings a strong commitment and dedication to the agency. Ms. Botsacos is owner of James Toyota
Scion and James KIA in Flemington. In accepting her nomination to the Board, Ms. Botsacos expressed honor in having been asked.
She stated that SAFE holds a special place in her heart, and after recently completing the agency’s volunteer training, her passion for the
cause is even stronger. She is proud to be “one of the voices of those who have been silenced.”
Stephen S. Little, Flemington, is the owner of Jake’s Restaurant and Little Brothers Beverage. A native of Hunterdon County, Mr. Little
said he “knows the affluent county is not exempt from the horrors of abuse and rape” and he will be able to help guide the board with
projects and programs to advance the needs of the agency. Mr. Little’s wife, Christine, is a former SAFE in Hunterdon Board member.
Mr. Little resides in Flemington with his wife and their four children. He also serves on the board of the Flemington Food Pantry and is
