FLEMINGTON, NJ, OCTOBER 19, 2009 – Comic Fusion invites the community to come out for Superhero Weekend on Saturday, October
24th and Sunday, October 25th. Sunday is Wonder Woman Day, and Comic Fusion will be hosting a special charity auction to benefit SAFE in
Hunterdon.
Wonder Woman Day is an annual event originally launched by best-selling author Andy Mangels in Portland, Oregon, in 2006 as a benefit for
domestic violence shelters. The event was a spectacular success, and was subsequently held in Flemington the next year. This year, Wonder
Woman Day IV will take place once again in Portland and Flemington.
On Saturday, Comic Fusion will host guest artist Rob Kramer as well as Ken Haeser and Buz Hasson from Zenescope Comics. Sunday will
feature the legendary Joe Sinnott, who worked for over 15 years as the inker for Fantastic Four. In addition to Joe, Comic Fusion's own local
artist Chris Muller will be on hand. Wonder Woman herself will even be dropping by!
Visitors will have the chance to bid on Wonder Woman drawings from talented comic artists. Some of artwork featured at the auction is from
well-known artists Khoi Pham and Billy Tan, and famous local sports and trading cards artists James Fiorentino, Scott Burnett and Ken Branch.
In addition to the artists and the auction, there will be a raffle with some great items from Dark Horse Comics, Whilce Portacio and Diamond
Comic Distributors, including signed comics, signed action figures, statues and more. Come in costume and win a prize!
“Wonder Woman Day is meant to be a celebration of the character and her values, with the goal of inspiring the greater community uphold
those same values,” explained Stacy Korn, co-owner of Comic Fusion. “We’re excited to be working once again with in partnership with Andy
Mangels to benefit our local Flemington community.”
