FLEMINGTON, NJ –The Max Spann Family of Hunterdon County will be honored for its dedication to the community at an upcoming benefit
for SAFE in Hunterdon. SAFE, an organization that serves victims of domestic and sexual abuse, will hold a cocktail reception called “An
Evening of Awareness,” to honor the Spanns and increase awareness of the problem affecting many Hunterdon County families.

“It is our hope that many community members will participate in honoring the Spann family for all that they do to help better the lives of those
in need,” said Lisa Verniero, the event committee chair.  “There are families who struggle with domestic violence every day.  We strive to end
that violence by bringing awareness to the issue,” Ms. Verniero said. “Agencies around the country, like SAFE in Hunterdon right here in our
county, provide the necessary services to help victims and survivors – women, children, and men. The celebration of the Spann family will take
place in the spring as an awareness and fundraising effort necessary to continue to provide these vital services to our community.”

The Spann family has been in Hunterdon County for more than 110 years with roots in the Far Hills/Oldwick area. The family business started
in 1890 as a cattle auction house and has evolved into Max Spann Real Estate & Auction Co., a national real estate auction house headquartered
on Route 31 in Clinton.

The commitment to helping others was first instilled in Max Sr. as a young boy living on the family farm.  Having to tend to the family’s cattle
instilled in him a sense of duty, responsibility and commitment to others. He and his wife of 52 years, Virgiene, have imparted that same
appreciation and philosophy in their four children and eleven grandchildren.

The list of charitable organizations that Mr. and Mrs. Spann have served or currently serves is extensive, and includes the Governor’s Council
for Mentally Handicapped under the Thomas Kean Administration; Somerset County Senior Housing Authority; The National Arc; The Arc of
New Jersey; The Arc of Somerset; United Way; Abilities of Northwest Jersey; Hunterdon Medical Center; Somerset Medical Center; Habitat for
Humanity; St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital; American Jersey Cattle Association; St. Bridget School; Immaculate Conception Church, St. Paul’s
Abbey School and Delbarton School.

The Spann children and grandchildren also serve a variety of charitable organizations. First born, Mary Theresa, and her spouse, Dr. Michael
Fasano, are both anesthesiologists living in Lenox, Massachusetts.  Along with their four daughters, they are deeply committed to a medical
mission in India through their local church.  Second daughter, Elizabeth Rose, is developmentally disabled and resides in Belvidere, NJ. Elizabeth
is a focal point for the family. Through her they have learned the results of support and love and the spiritual dividends that provides. Son, Max
Jr., is president, and his wife, Loren, is CFO of Max Spann Real Estate & Auction Company.  Residing in Clinton with their triplet sons, they
serve in various ways with the Hunterdon Medical Center, SAFE in Hunterdon, the YMCA, Stanton Reform Church, Anderson House, Boy
Scouts of America, Embrace Kids Foundation and the Good Shepherd Food Bank in Poland Spring, Maine. Son, Louis, also a member of the
Real Estate & Auction Company, continues the fifth-generation tradition of cattle farming, caring for and selectively breeding and showing
Jersey cattle.  He and his wife, Mary Jane, a nurse, have four children.

“Family is deeply important to me,” Mr. Spann stated. “It saddens me to know that there are families living with abuse.  We are committed to
doing what we can to help.” The Event Committee is planning a cocktail evening at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster on March
25th. Please visit www.safeinhunterdon.org to learn details as they become available or call Andrea Lovas at (908) 788-7666 to be added to the
