FLEMINGTON, NJ, OCTOBER 13, 2010 – Comic Fusion invites the community to come out for Superhero Weekend on Saturday, October
23rd and Sunday, October 24th. Sunday is Wonder Woman Day, and Comic Fusion will be hosting a special charity auction to benefit SAFE in
Hunterdon.
Wonder Woman Day is an annual event originally launched by best-selling author Andy Mangels in Portland, Oregon, in 2006 as a benefit for
domestic violence shelters. The event was a spectacular success, and was subsequently held in Flemington the next year. This year, Wonder
Woman Day V will take place once again in Portland and Flemington.
On online auction featuring over 100 Wonder Woman sketches has already kicked off on eBay. Check it out through www.comicfusion.com.
Bidding ends Saturday night, 10/23, and continues on Sunday, 10/24, at the store. Artists contributing sketches for the online auction include:
On Saturday, Comic Fusion will host guest artists Jamal Igle of Super Girl from DC Comics and Dynamite Entertainment Artist Ken Haeser,
creator of The Living Corpse Comic. Star Wars Characters from the 501st and the Rebel Legion as well as Firestar and Friends will be in full
costume for pictures with the kids (or adults)!
On Sunday, come check out artists Charles Wilson III and Michael Devito of The Stuff of Legend and local artist Nick Machoviak. Hang out
with Wonder Woman and Friends and score some great giveaways, including signed prints from the guest artists.
In addition to the artists and the auction, there will be a raffle with exciting items from Dark Horse Comics, Diamond Select Toys, Del Rey
Publishing/Random House, La-La Land Records, Mobius Models and Warner Home Video, including comic books, action figures, DVD sets,
Wonder Woman model kits, games and more. Come in costume and win a prize!
“Wonder Woman Day is meant to be a celebration of the character and her values, with the goal of inspiring the greater community to uphold
those same values,” explained Stacy Korn, co-owner of Comic Fusion. “We’re excited to be working once again in partnership with Andy
Mangels to benefit our local Flemington community. This year’s Wonder Woman Day is going to be bigger and better than ever!”
